I must have left in 1964. My remembrance is I held the record for the most caneings. Caned for talking in study hall, failing tests, etc. I was a day boy, still remember sitting in detention on a Saturday while others were watching films in the gym. It was a horrible and interesting experience. Hope ‘old boys’ are doing well!

I was there from about 1956 to 1962. Played in all the teams but not very academic! I Found an old diary in which I was caned after breakfast for failing a Geography test and after lunch for failing an English one! Not as bad as Charles Spencer's Maidwell Hall experiences, though!

From the title, I initially thought this was an argument *against* classical architecture. Much of the modern architectural profession and architectural education establishment has blighted the landscape of our built environment.

Thank for the memories from my time @Seaford Court in the late 1950s with so many fine colour images. Its previous history as the home of Henry Morgan who founded Morgan Motors and its subsequent incarnation as the Malvern Community Hospital are fascinating insights into the history of the Seaford Court site. Great memories. I worked under your guidance as a technician on Phase 2, Ferry house and other projects. I remember spending days drawing out a spiral staircase, setting the levels for the car park under strict instructions not to have any ponding, and also setting out the position of the Calshot Spit light ship with spray cans and later watching it being craned in. It’s a shame some of it is no longer there. Great times - Mark

I used to go this school it sucked the teachers were mean I mean when I was hit kicked or made fun of. I would tell the teachers they did not care. The security there was terrible so many students ended up escaping up on the fields there were NO fence's at all anybody could leave at anytime things would get lost easily so archbishop wake is TERRIBLE

I visited the school not to long ago, In great condition. The teachers are rlly nice to, especially Mrs. Bishton. One of the best teachers ever.

Fond memories of being taken here by my parents. I remember the old penny machines and the Quasar they had there! Such a shame that’s it’s changed so drastically 😔

My Great Grandfather Frederick William Duncombe was Chaplain at the Victoria Hospital Netley around 1915. I only found out recently so these videos are so interesting for me. Thanks for sharing.

No bad memories of that place, just wish I'd taken better advantage of the opportunity provided. Actually, one bad memory with a good result, I was new to school swimming pool, confused the deep end with the shallow end, jumped in, inhaled water and was rescued by a Siamese lad who swam like a fish, I think there were brothers there, we definitely referred to them as Siamese and not 'Thai'.

I was truly stunned when I watched this - I live across the river from Netley, and have always been able to see the remaining chapel, but had no idea of the scale of the hospital. Amazing!!
